    James Battersby Lighthouse Club Educational Trust

    The Educational Trust, set up in memory of the late James Battersby, who died in 1997 at a tragically young age, is intended to provide help to young people connected with the construction industry.

    Specifically, the objectives of the Educational Trust are:

    1. To assist with the training in the construction industry of young people in the Asia Pacific Region who are suffering hardship as a result of death or injury or illness of a parent or guardian; and

    2. To assist with the education of children in the Asia Pacific Region who are suffering hardship as a result of the death or injury of illness of a parent or guardian who was employed in the construction industry.

    The Lighthouse Club Asia Pacific Region Benevolent Fund

    The objectives of the Fund are:

    1.   To assist those relieve poverty and financial need suffered by persons employed or formerly employed within the building and civil engineering industries and allied trades in any country or territory within the geographic area of Asia, Australasia, and the widows, widowers, children and dependants of such persons, where such persons, widows, widowers, children and dependents are suffering hardship as a result of accident, disability or ill-health.

    2.   To provide or assist with the provision and advancement of education for persons employed or formerly employed within the building and civil engineering industries and allied trades in any country or territory within the geographic area of Asia, Australasia, and the widows, widowers, children and dependants of such persons, where poverty is preventing such persons, widows, widowers, children and dependants from fulfilling their education.

    3.   To provide or assist with the provision and advancement of education, being education and training in the construction industry for persons who are resident in any country or territory within the geographic area of Asia, Australasia, and who desire to obtain such education and training, but where poverty is preventing such persons from fulfilling such education and training.
